Our RCIA program has multiple opportunities for volunteers, ranging from sponsors to lead catechists.
RCIA Inquiry Team Member
Consider joining our RCIA Inquiry Team and welcome those who are inquiring about the Catholic faith. Team members provide a hospitable environment, participate in the small-group inquiry sessions, and listen to the faith journeys, stories, and questions of those desiring to become Catholic.
RCIA Sponsor
An RCIA sponsor is you. A parishioner who is a friend and a spiritual mentor to one who is on a faith journey to enter more fully in the life of Christ and the Church through our parish community. Sponsors attend an initial training, participate with their companion in the weekly RCIA sessions, meet with their companion outside the sessions and share their ministry experience.
RCIA Catechist
RCIA Catechists are a part of a core team of catechists who facilitate sessions once every 4-5 weeks and participate in our weekly sessions. Catechists prepare a Sunday RCIA session using a provided catechist’s guide. Prep time takes about one hour. Catechists help create an environment for learning, including liturgical environment, creating small group discussion, and facilitating larger group discussion.
RCIA Guest Catechist
RCIA Guest Catechists are like our core team of catechists except they facilitate sessions based on their area of interest or expertise and are not a member of the core team and not expected to participate in RCIA on a regular basis.
RCIA Hospitality Team
RCIA Hospitality Team members help with logistical needs and coordinating snacks for catechetical sessions as well as setup and food for retreat days and receptions. The team members are not responsble for personally providing the food but lead the way in providing an hospitable environment for our functions.
