EIM Training

How do I login to my EIM account in VIRTUS Online?

1. Go to www.virtus.org and enter your User ID and Password or click the blue I NEED LOGIN HELP button. This takes you to your VIRTUS account which has your personal EIM information for your site.
2. When you login you will find your personal account information.  You can…
   1. Update your contact and profile information in the My Info box.
   2. The Current Training box shows any training you are due to complete.
   3. The Required Documents box shows any Diocese of Austin specific documents you are due to complete (typically this is just the Code of Ethics).
   4. The Compliance Summary box will indicate whether your account is Compliant or Not-Compliant. Click image of the certificate to view a snapshot of your account including your locations and roles and the dates of your most recent training, background check and signed required document. [NOTE: This is equivalent to the former Verification Form]
   5. The Contacts box lists your local site administrator(s) and anyone designated to have view-only access.
   6. The Reporting Abuse box is a link to the state and EIM reporting information.
   7. The Resources box has the EIM Workshop workbooks for VIRTUS’ Protecting God’s Children in English, Spanish, Korean and Vietnamese.
3. If you have trouble logging into your account, you can check the “I need login help” button or your Site Administrator may assist you with recovering your username/password (but only if you already have an account).
4. We will provide additional information as we continue to update the EIM portion of the website.  Any other questions, please direct them to your Site Administrator or contact the main office at (512) 255-1389.

What is EIM?
Ethics & Integrity in Ministry (EIM) is the diocesan policy, training and screening process that empowers our community to prevent and respond to abuse. Compliance with EIM policies is required of all priests, deacons, religious sisters and brothers, seminarians, employees and adult lay volunteers serving in a ministry which requires compliance. Why is EIM required for all who serve in ministry?

We have a shared responsibility to ensure our parish/school is a safe place for everyone, especially children and vulnerable adults. The more people who are aware of abuse warning signs, the more effective we can be in keeping our parish, schools, families and community safe from preventable harm. We need everyone to be the eyes, ears and voices of those who are most vulnerable!

What is required to be EIM compliant?

Are you currently active in a ministry/organization here at xxx? The EIM program uses VIRTUS to manage ongoing EIM compliance for currently active ministers – keeping background rechecks up-to-date and providing online EIM refresher training – and sends reminder emails to currently active members who are due to update either training or the background check. Because background checks and training are typically not on the same schedule, VIRTUS sends separate emails for each compliance requirement (training and background recheck), so please thoroughly read the email you receive to understand which compliance requirement you are being asked to update.

NOTE: background rechecks are no longer automatic and you’ll be asked to reauthorize a recheck every three years. Login to your EIM account at
