Art & Environment

The Art and Environment Ministry creates environments that encourage worship. Through the use of fabric, images, flowers and other objects the ministry prepares the worship space to reflect the church season and events throughout the liturgical year. Time commitment is 3-4 hours once a month and/or seasonal workdays.

As you enter our worship space for Mass, perhaps something is different… sometimes it’s a big change, but sometimes you can’t put your finger on it… it just feels different.

Have you ever noticed that the color of the hanging fabrics in the church is the same color as the vestments the priest and deacon are wearing? Have you counted the weeks that we have purple banners hanging? Or the Easter lilies are “still here” for weeks after Easter Sunday? What you’re noticing is the environment of the church.

The goal of the Art & Environment Ministry is to enhance the "environment" of our buildings, creating spiritually enriching worship spaces. Our ministry prepares and decorates the worship spaces in liturgical season colors, textures, and smells; including the hanging fabrics, the flower arrangements and palm trees, and Christmas or Easter plants - striving to enrich the faith and traditions of our Church and be welcoming to everyone who enters our doors.

We’re always excited to have new people join us and look at our worship space in a new light. Everyone has a talent to share… a love of flowers, a patient soul to iron or steam fabrics, a strong back to move and climb ladders… each of us can bring something to the ministry and become a vibrant member of our Church community.
