Christ Renews His Parish (CRHP) - (pronounced "chirp") is a spiritual renewal process designed to bring members of our parish together in Christ. CRHP has a clear focus on the Gospel and emphasizes continued growth in Christian life through scripture study, prayer, the sacraments and fellowship with members of our parish community. CRHP offers an opportunity to step back from daily life and reexamine our Christian, Catholic commitment to the teachings of Jesus. The CRHP process begins with a renewal weekend at the parish (one weekend for men, one weekend for women) that runs from Saturday morning through Sunday afternoon. The renewal weekend is open to all St. Vincent de Paul parishioners who are at least 19 years of age. Renewal weekends are on going and given for parishioners by parishioners. After the renewal weekend, participants are given the opportunity to participate in a team formation process and deliver the next renewal weekend, (for the following group of parishioners) which occurs six months later. CRHP is for anyone seeking spiritual renewal and an opportunity to deepen their faith and sense of purpose within the parish community.
Yet those who wait for the Lord will gain new strength; they will mount up with wings like eagles, they will run and not get tired, they will walk and not become weary.
Isaiah 40:31
The weekend is an opportunity to hear and discuss how Catholics live in our world as citizens of Christ's Church. Team members center the process around reflections with an emphasis on small group discussions and activities. Topics include the Father's loving care for us, Scripture, Eucharist, and what living the Christian life is about. You will be free to share your thoughts and experiences on your Christian journey to the extent you are comfortable. Prayer, scripture, and liturgy stimulate dialogue and an atmosphere of reverence. Sacraments are part of the weekend with Mass being celebrated on Saturday evening and Sunday morning. Reconciliation is offered to participants with our parish priest and visiting priests.
We have not ceased to pray for you and ask that you may be filled with the knowledge of His will in all spiritual wisdom and understanding, so that you may walk in a manner worthy of the Lord, to please Him in all respects, bearing fruit in every good work and decreasing in the knowledge of God.
Colossians 1:9-10
The weekends are held in our parish facilities from Saturday morning through Sunday afternoon. Two weekends for men and two for women will be given each year. Sleeping accommodations will be provided and parish volunteers will prepare meals. Casual and comfortable clothing is the "uniform of the day". Every effort will be made to accommodate special needs.
An announcement will be placed in the parish bulletin inviting all parishioners to attend a renewal weekend and an SV dP parishioner will deliver a verbal invitation from the pulpit during Mass. Sign up sheets will be available after each Mass. If you have any questions at this time you may call the invitation coordinators whose names and contact information are listed at the bottom of this page.
CRHP is for anyone who seeks spiritual renewal, desires to build up the Body of Christ, or gain a deeper sense of purpose and fellowship within our parish community. If you feel that Christ is calling you through the Holy Spirit, please answer the call.
CRHP is not
CRHP is
Do not conform yourself to this age but be transformed by the renewal of your mind, that you may discern what is the will of God, what is good and pleasing and perfect.
Romans 12:2
There is no cost to the participants. Volunteer help by any parishioner is always welcome. Donations are accepted and are always private and anonymous.

CRHP has strengthened our ties with the parish after
moving from Louisiana in the aftermath of Hurricane
Katrina. We have now many friends that we wouldn't
know so well in such a short time without CRHP." -
Victor and Ina A.
"Not wanting to really go initially, it turned out to
be a very life changing experience. I made very close
friends and found a common love of Christ, of
scripture and life! It was a wonderful experience and
continues to enhance my life." - Beth B.
"CHRP has deeply renewed my heart and my relationship
with Christ with amazing impact on my relationship
with my family and the community. Although I thought
I had a solid relationship with Christ prior to my
CHRP days, I have since then discovered a whole new
dimension of ongoing spiritual renewal, which
continues to profoundly enrich my purpose and
direction in life as a wife, a parent and "a part of
His body." - Fatima M.
"It gave me a spiritual uplift. It changed my life
meeting all the people involved, knowing I have
lifelong friends that are family and most importantly
I am closer to Christ in my daily living." - Myrl W.
"For me it was a spiritual awakening. I personally
felt Christ in my heart like I have never felt before.
It changed the way I receive the Holy Eucharist. It
helped me become more involved the church which helps
me live as God ask of me. I also got to meet some
great people in our parish. You will form a
brotherhood like none other. Jesus loves you!" - Kevin
H.
"Thomas Merton says, 'People look for God individually
but only find Him in community'. We are people who
come together as individuals but leave as members of a
community formed in love and trial." - JH
"CRHP has helped me to become more aware of my
responsibilities as a Christian. I became more
outspoken about my Catholic faith. I can see Christ
in everyone which brings me to be more compassionate
and loving."
"The weekend truly was a renewal for me! I never knew
how close to God and aware of the Holy Spirit one
could experience until this weekend. It opened me up
and allowed me to hear and feel God's presence within
me." - Dee Dee R.
"CRHP has truly been a blessing in my life. It began
as a beautiful weekend that deepened my relationship
with Christ. SVdP now feels like home and is my
favorite place to worship. When I come to mass now it
is with a sense of belonging and community. Looking
back, I reflect how the weekend has been good for me
on so many different levels. It's hard to put into
words or know where to begin, but it's all good and
something I would recommend to everyone. Although the
renewal weekend has passed, the Good News continues to
spread and my circle of 'Church family' somehow keeps
growing. I am so glad I said yes to the invitation,
it was one of my better decisions!" - Lynn R.
"The CRHP experience has taught me to be more
thoughtful and considerate of other people's
situations. It has opened my heart to everyone I
meet. I've learned to be more prayerful and have a
desire now to read scripture. Now I want to surrender
everything to God and let Him be in control instead of
having false starts believing I am in control."
